This forum got started in February 2003, this is probably one of the newest forums on the net. Basically, I just got sick of all the forums talking all big and thinking that they were all the best. One thing that used to bother me about other forums is all the "flaming" going on. You open your mouth the wrong way and everyone's all over you. I want this forum to be friendly to all the people who use it.

I do recommend that you do use the Search function before you ask a question. Chances are that someone else has already asked it.

Flaming is definitely not allowed and will not be tolerated at all. Also reponses like rtfm are discouraged. It's not really helpful just to tell someone to read the manual. I'm sure that if the problem were that easy, they would've.

The internet is a HUGE place and it's very intimidating to the average user. It's very hard to find information.

For the above reasons I think that Computer-Forums.net should be more relaxed and laid back than all the other forums on the internet.

This is the most important rule: This is not a Hacking/Cracking or Warez forum. Practice of pirated software is not tolerated here.

• You are allowed one sign up and that's it, if you entered the wrong e-mail address by accident, you can e-mail me.
• Racism/sexual harrasment, derogatory, and inflammatory comments are not tolerated. Of course jokes are within certain bounds.
• Post whoring is not allowed. If we notice that you're just posting to get your post count up, we will ban you.
• Please read How to ask questions.
• Please try to stay as friendly and kind as possible

• As was said before, please use the search function before posting a question because chances are that someone has already asked that question.
• Please make your subjects and questions as specific as possible. This helps people respond better and it also helps for the searches.
• If a new question is started from an existing topic, please start a new topic.
• Please don't post in every single thread if you can't be helpful in some sort of way.
• Try not to post 2 times in a row. If you want to reply to 2 different people, use the quote= feature in the post.
• Please include sources at the bottom of the post if stealing someone else's material.
• If posting a lengthy reply, please format as best as possible. It's too much of a pain for us to go through each post to reformat them.
• Please try to avoid swearing, we're not going to edit it out but please try to keep these forums clean.

• We DON'T allow spamming of any kind. That means none of the following: XXX, Warez, or any kind of money making schemes.
• There is nothing wrong with linking to other sites but it has to be on topic.
• Linking to personal sites is allowed as long as it's on topic.
• Free advertisement isn't going to happen on this site. Cut a check our way and we'll consider it.
• You may post your personal site for review, the best place to do this would probably be in the Programming section. Be prepared for a lot of critisism though.
