I`m working in the middle size business. We`re looking for shared storage I`m considering what iSCSI solution is better if compare of price and functionality - software or hardware? And what vendor is more reliable?

It depends of how much money are you ready to spent. If there is not a lot, than I think it`ll be better to use reliable software.

Yeah. Use FreenAS , Openfiler and iSCSI Cake only if you want to be sure in your system crash. Check if something among Lefthand, StarWind or Datacore may compliment your system
